About Us

Miriam Airington-Fisher is a criminal defense and immigration lawyer who has devoted her career to reuniting families and helping them integrate into society. As the founder of Las Abogadas RVA®, she has consistently worked to establish one of the most respected, committed, and successful immigration law firms in Virginia. Miriam leads a team of skilled attorneys, compassionate paralegals, and dedicated support staff, all united in delivering exceptional immigration services to their clients.

Miriam earned her law degree from the University of Miami School of Law in Florida and holds a degree from George Washington University in Washington, D.C. Her deep passion for assisting families through immigration challenges has driven her career. She currently resides in Virginia with her husband and three children.

As a Dominican immigrant, Jennifer’s lifelong dream was to become a defense attorney and protect the rights of those in need. After moving to the U.S. to study, Jennifer graduated from the University of Central Florida and earned her law degree from the College of William and Mary, later becoming a naturalized U.S. citizen. She joined Las Abogadas RVA® as a dedicated and passionate advocate for her clients and their families.

Maria joined Las Abogadas RVA® as an Operations Consultant in February 2023. Originally from Mexico, she brings firsthand insight into the challenges of navigating the immigration process and recognizes the importance of having a dependable legal team to provide guidance and support.

Maria is dedicated to ensuring that clients have a welcoming and high-quality experience. Collaborating closely with the legal team, she works to keep clients well-informed and supported throughout their journey. Her goal is to provide clients with confidence and reassurance, ensuring they feel advocated for while their cases progress smoothly and comfortably.

Adriana joined the team in January 2026. She is originally from El Salvador and moved to the U.S. in 2014. She graduated from Randolph-Macon College with a double major in Spanish Literature and Communication Studies. She got her start as a morning radio host at a local Spanish-language station in Richmond, where she connected closely with the Latino community. Since then, she’s worked with immigrant communities as a Programs Coordinator for the Office of Immigrant and Refugee Engagement and as a content writer for Chesterfield County Public Libraries. She’s passionate about communication, storytelling, and serving her community.

Jamie graduated from the University of Mary Washington, where she studied Business and Communications. She serves as the People and Culture Coordinator at Las Abogadas RVA®. With six years of HR experience in the Richmond area, Jamie has developed a deep understanding of how to foster a positive work environment and effectively support staff. She is committed to creating a workplace culture that promotes well-being, collaboration, and professional growth. Jamie enjoys spending time with family and friends, and in her free time, she loves walking, cooking, reading, being outdoors, and enjoying the beach.

Daniella, born and raised in Virginia, is a paralegal at Las Abogadas RVA®, specializing in immigration law. She started her career in March 2023 at a local immigration firm before joining the Las Abogadas team. Daniella graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2022 with a B.S. in Professional Science and a minor in Psychology, and she is currently pursuing her MBA at George Mason University, expected in 2027. With roots in Puerto Rico, Daniella brings both local perspective and cultural pride to her work. She shares her life with her spouse and two kids and, in her free time, enjoys dramatic shows, indulging in ice cream, catching up on sleep, and spending time with her children.

Yorly was born and raised in Venezuela, the daughter of a Venezuelan mother and a Colombian father. She earned her degree in Education from the University of Los Andes and later completed a master’s degree in Learning Assessment. For ten years, she worked as a teacher in her home country before moving to Colombia, where she spent five years teaching students aged 5 to 17 in Spanish, reading, and writing.

In July 2025, Yorly joined our team as Front Desk Receptionist. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her two daughters. As a Colombian-Venezuelan migrant, she feels a deep commitment to the firm’s mission—especially since she was once a client herself through a T visa case. This personal experience has given her a profound empathy for the unimaginable challenges our clients face on their journey to live and migrate to the United States. That understanding motivates her daily to support the legal team, extending a helping hand not only to Spanish-speaking migrants but also to individuals from diverse parts of the world.

Nahomy was born and raised in Puerto Rico and relocated to Virginia in 2017. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology, and a Master’s degree in Public Policy.

With a strong background in leadership, client relations, and human-centered communication, Nahomy previously worked as a Lead Executive Response Team Analyst for the Customer Relations Team at  CarMax. Her professional experience, combined with her academic foundation, reflects her passion for helping individuals, supporting communities, and creating meaningful impact through service and advocacy.

Selena is a legal assistant with Las Abogadas RVA®. Selena, who has a deep connection to her Salvadoran heritage, was raised in Northern Virginia, and moved to the Richmond area to pursue her academics. Selena holds a Bachelor's degree in Social Work with minors in both Criminal Justice and Psychology from Virginia Commonwealth University. 

Selena has worked closely with the Latino community through student organizations and professional experiences. She possesses a strong foundation in interpersonal relations, advocacy, and organization. She is committed to supporting clients and their families to achieve their ultimate goals.
